I haven't forgotten about these! I'm going to be combing through this thread and try to add things based off our monthly themes as well as just everyday fun suggestions (like the magic suggestions).
SO KEEP ADDING SUGGESTIONS ETC
New Tea House/Bath House job (since this is first upcoming new wedding charity)
Centropolis Garden Project
Covey with the Stabby Trash Stick Trusty with the Rake Rehab Sponsor Seeds Monitor Volunteer Paralegal Plot Assigner Apollonia's (that is to say, one of the goddesses of Subeta) Guidance Centropolis Urban Planner Borough Greenbelt Activist
Apologies if already suggested, but do you think we could have a position that's just "freelancer" or "self-employed"? It could have various ranks starting from taking odd jobs for neighbors, all the way to becoming the owner of their own small business. The job descriptions could be kept vague. It would be cool to have this option for characters who are self-employed, so that the pet's job can match its character/story more, especially if freelancing is a significant part of the character.
Other suggestions: I'd love some holiday-shop jobs, especially for the Zombie Den and Lamour Parlour. Lamour Parlour jobs would be great for romance-related pets :)

Music jobs: I love the idea of being in a band and becoming a performer as one option as well as the music shop. Magic jobs: Others have mentioned the tons of places places (besides Shinwa and Maleria) where magic-based Pets could work, and since no one's said it yet, my vote is for THE ORACLE! Observatory: I have an astronomer Pet, so this would be really cool for her! Plant jobs: Riverside Park and Peka Glade. Also, the farm in Veta would be a good option for Pets who like to actually plant or harvest CROPS instead of the kind of work they seem to be doing at Seedlings (though that's a good start).
EDIT: How about a job at that Steel Excavation, for any Pets into digging into the past?
: Freelancing actually has a lot of potential as well, but if you end up 'owning your own small business', you'll end up having to have at least a couple employees yourself...if it went that far, it would turn into a branch of jobs and job creating which would maybe be more than Subeta staff wants to do?
I mean, unless the team wants to add in a function to allow freelancers at the top level to name a business, create ranks, hiring/promotion requirements, and pay scales, and add said business to the job options in the job center?
...Actually, that would be really cool! :D
I'd like to see an alchemy or maybe potions job...I think those are the Philosopher's Store and the whatever-it-is Apothecary? I have an alchemist pet and every other available job sort of rubs me the wrong way for her. I could maybe go with the Healer for her, too.
If freelancer gets done it should be random (within a set ranged amount) which time and stat requirements you need to get to the next level and random what the compensation (within a set ranged amount)
Odd jobber Handcrafter Estate reseller Magical Forger Artsy Stoneware Caster Red Tape Chopper Estie Shop Owner Glib Auctioneer Jack Of All Trades Arb (short for arbitrageur, the subeta stock market is closed, but still) Entrepeneur
: But what if your version of freelancing has nothing to do with forging or stonewares? What if you write or set up tourism outings or something like that? I don't think Freelancer could have titles so specific when plenty of freelancing has nothing to do with those kinds of things.
Otherwise, it's a pretty cool list. :)
Dunno if this one's been suggested, but how about working for the Wizard? Beginning rank could be 'Magic Academy Student', final rank being 'Master Magician' or something along those lines.
My titles were meant to describe what many freelancers I have known have done with their lives, so of course YMMV
the legal version of forger is Notary Public, which many freelancers will do on the side. The generic version of Arts & Crafts and that ilk of American small-factory art-for-everyone like Craftsman Houses and Fiesta Ware, it doesn't have a name. Maybe Arts Promoter?
Anyhow, whenever you're at a party and have to describe what you do you have a dilemma. You may very well be a freelance marketer for the end caps that go on the posts for cyclone fencing in commercial applications, but you'd say you're a marketer. OTOH if the party was more working class you'd say you did fencing. There's always a tension between specific and general.
Me I think if what your pet does is so general it can't fit any of these, then maybe she's just doing a weird version of one of the other jobs titles we already have. Instead of making her fit the job make the job fit her?
: If that's been your experience with freelancers, it makes sense why you'd list them that way. Don't Notary Publics have to have certain legal qualifications, they can't just 'do' the job, otherwise it qualifies as illegal? Dunno if that actually matters in Subeta because I have no idea what their laws are in that regard.
If you want it to be freelancing, though, it should be more general things JUST SO more pets can take the general title and apply it to their pet with their own twist. Wouldn't that be the point of freelancing in the first place...?
I don't have any freelance pets, though--just 2-3 I'd really rather have in school instead of working because they're really meant to just be kids. I'm asking about this because it's for others' pets and what they might like to do with them. Maybe I'll get a pet later who will be a freelancer, but it's not my primary concern for myself right now.
Probably doesn't matter that much, anyway, because there are plenty of other jobs the staff has way more votes on for them to create before they'd probably even look at freelancing as a job. Sorry if you feel like I'm stepping on your toes or whatever, Solsticesprite, because that's not what I'm trying to do.
I was thinking:
Wizard giving an astronomer/astrology/space research job! Crime fighting Weather (I forget the bear's name omg) Woodsman/building (Weasley) Sports (Jim) Matchmaking Beanbags, Plushies
perhaps some seasonal jobs, like for Morostide, Lumi, Vesnali, etc. Pumpkin Picker/haunted house/ghost hunter gift wrapper/tree decorator/candy stuff egg painter/bunny saver/basket weaver
A few ideas :)

It'd be awesome if there was something that could have magician as a job name... shame we don't have the magic box anymore!
I have some witchy pets who are waiting for openings at Spells Galore.
🌈 I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days sneak up on me at once 🌈
I have a couple, not sure if they've been thought of yet. I haven't read through, sorry about that.
I'd love to see a nature conservation job located in peka! There is a wonderful park near my house that's always doing fun things that could make for some good tiers. They have camps for kids, bird watching, concerts, obstacle races, tours through the old buildings, and of course nature camps. Jobs could include, counselor, leaf spotter, trail guide, tree detective, wildlife expert, critter chronicler, boo-boo bandager, campfire lover, and on and on.
Crystal finder! located in coda caves. Could have tiers based on the gems found/ price? Could start off as Pebble polisher, pet rock collector, up to opal embued, diamond digger, ect.
Wizard or magician, evil overseer, are a couple more vague ideas. Many places this could go, could even have more than one just for variety. (sorcerer from shengui gui focuses on water and reading. witch from shadowglen with a focus on nature and doing things for neighbors.)
Also it might be cute to have "schools" or daycares for those pets that are kids. Or if that's too far outside the box just something to do with little kids would be cute. :) Wouldn't even have to pay out sp and I'd be happy haha. Or it could be a play-pretend clubhouse 'job'. Cute tiers too- macaroni picture maker, reads now, block basher, plushie hoarder, naps like a pro, ect.)
Edit: Something to do with water and boating would be great too! Tiers could be warf rat, fisherperson, scallywag, net cleaner, star charter, first mate, captain, ect.
Final rank would probably be more like 'Panty Collector' tbh...
So much support for this! Anything magical would be great!

Tempest :3 And those are great ideas! I'm still really hoping for a photography job set that I posted a while back
I pretty much went through the stores a while back and suggested some things we really need jobs for, Spells Galore was one! :D clicky
I agree! And maybe achievements/items to go along? Just throwing some ideas! All up to you guys!
OOOO, photography!!! That sounds AWESOME!

Some thoughts.
I'd like to see something for public services? like police/fire/paramedic maybe even a hospital type job out there?
Could even have an undertaker or graveyard grounds keeper - I dunno how close that would be to Quentin tho.-
Something for space would be nice too. Astrology or what-not.
