Yeah I just meant what kinds of things do you learn about.

Oh. Closer to the end of the class there's a bunch of emphasis on presentation, you know, making sure the food all looks good and it's the right amount of food and so on. But it's mostly just learning to cook stuff. Really stuff that I would've never made had I not done it in class.

Also, sorry for taking so long to reply.. went to my grandparents' for Christmas and didn't take my laptop.

It was pretty good, got almost everything I wanted. Even something that I didn't want, which is being sick, lol. I didn't put much thought into whether or not I should go out and mess around in the snow with wet hair... needless to say, I'm coughing a lot and have a sore throat. lol. Yours?

Oh I hope you feel better soon! I just watched it snow, didn't play in it lol. I had a great Christmas, got a lot of presents and everyone seemed to like what I got them :)

I got bare minerals blush foundation and two small eyeshadow packs, a bag, two pairs of shoes, white chocolate, nail polish, a thing of different color eye liners, earrings, a scarf and a hat. What did you get?

I got an iHome, $155, a blanket, shoes, a jacket, an iPod Nano, a PS3 Pulse Elite headset, Black Ops 2 (which I should have late this week or early next week, was my present to myself), a horse engraving thing, and candy. Not very much candy, but candy. Pretty satisfied with what I got, I think.

Oh, I worked 5pm-1am.. decided to work so other people could party lol. But for time and a half, I was okay with it. After I got off my ex was supposed to come over and get drunk with me, but either he fell asleep or just decided he didn't want to, cause I texted him saying I was home so he could come over, and he never texted back. So I figure one or the other. Theeeen my Jan. 1st was spent kinda bummed out because no one was paying attention to me, lol.

Aw that sounds awful, I'm sorry. What job has you working till 1am? Bartender? How old are you by the way? I didn't do anything, I was visiting home and my family doesn't celebrate it really. I'm at school right now taking a Jan term class. Its an awful class but its something to do.

I work for a temp catering company. I was doing carving. Sometimes I do serving, too. Since I'm in culinary school I figured that working with this company would be a very beneficial experience, and it has been so far. Good pay, too. I'm 18, 19 in April. When I hit 21, though, I'd like to see about getting my bartender's license. That sucks that your family doesn't celebrate it, it's fun!

I finally checked my schedule today.. I have a kitchen class 7am-noon class on Tuesdays... not really how I wanted to spend my Tuesday mornings lol

Oh okay, seems like a good gig. Yeah I wish they did celebrate it, but it's fine. Oh man that's no fun. I hate early morning classes. Anything before 11am I consider too early lol. I'm 22 years old btw.

I totally agree with you. I don't even usually wake up until around 11:30-1pm most days.This means I'll have to get up at like 5. :(

Oh man that blows. I wake up at 8am for my 10am class. Its not so bad after I get used to it. 5 is just disgusting though lol. Do you drink coffee?

It really is.. just took another look at my schedule.. I have to get up at 5 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Thursdays I'm at school until 7am-3:30pm. Kill me now, please. lol. I do not drink it, don't like the taste. Doesn't do anything for me, anyways.

I retract my statement. I have to get up at 5 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I'm technically not supposed to be in my 7am Wednesday class because I failed a class last quarter that I needed to pass to be in that class, but the Dean decided I could handle being in said class. Sure, I can, but that's so much extra pressure I think I'm just gonna drop it on Monday and take it next quarter like I should. Also, I'm getting guinea pigs tonight! I've been wanting a pet, and, even though we're not supposed to have pets other than a fish, I figure I'm paying near $50,000 to be here, so I'll have a pet if I damn well want to. I'll just keep them in my bedroom. Whoo! I only wanted two, but the lady is selling three because she doesn't want one alone, so I'm just taking all of them. So many fuzzies! :D

aww that's adorable! what are you gonna name them? have you ever had guinea pigs before?

I named them Lint, Nelly and Champagne (pronounced Champagin, Roomie named her). Lint is all white with red eyes, Nelly is brown, and Champagne is black and white. I have never had guinea pigs before, so I'm kinda just jumping into it. I've done a bunch of Googling, though, and even made a topic here in the forums. Got some good advice there, too.
