It's one of the reasons why he didn't want to make CWs for an indefinite period, but I think there were other reasons too. I wanted to fight for it, but he gave up and just refunded us all - Jerk even tried to make a CI for it, but Subeta was ALWAYS picky about the angle and stuff. D:

All held items look wonky to me, PERIOD.

Well I can't take this sitting down, if I can get enough people wanted X gun, I'll draw it at the proper angle and see if I can't change things for the better here somewhat, it's foolish that great CWs are being turned away because of this, at the very least I might be able to get a full and comprehensive idea as to why we're not allowed to fix the perspective, so that all our held items must look funky. [/reels self in from the war path] I'd make a formal suggestion but they don't often get replied to by Subeta artists (or mine don't idk), maybe feedback... That would probably be the best place to start. You wouldn't happen to know if Mean still has the original gun? And anyone else in the same position? I think this can be argued if laid out correctly, but I'd like some CW examples too (with the artist's permission of course), I think I have some digging around to do today...

Thank you => I wasn't going to back down from this one, I knew I was right and that sort of conviction doesn't come too easily to me. That and I've seen a few very good CWs get turned down for no good reason, and at the very least I feel the artist should be demanding a clearer explanation, if no one but the single/few Subetan artists can see it, then maybe the mistake isn't on our end. I'm not saying all denials are crazy, most do, ultimately, help the item, but when the accepted doesn't look anywhere near as good as the denied version, something somewhere has gone wrong.

I may be a girl, which will invalidate everything I will say, but it actually makes me sad to know that there are so little sexy guns (I would give anything for armalites, M-16s, .45s, Magnums, 9mms - actually ANY GUNS, PERIOD) and male custom wears. Then whatever little male-oriented custom wears we get either get 1. too little interest, or 2. have the artist assigned to the approval of the submission getting too incessantly fuzzy over details which could make the item lose its masculinity once approved.

I've always wanted to make a custom wearable gun, but with this fuzziness over angles in the HELD layer, of all layers, I think I just can't. D:

Now THAT's the spirit. I may have done that if I could, but I can't do angles and perspective when I actuall draw; I can only note of it. I'm with you in this war, whether you'll integrate another Metal Gear Solid reference here or not (because come on, MGS is AWESOME.) Seriously though, we have to sometime make a post on the Suggestions forum, and maybe also dissect the official held items, so that they could see what we mean, WITH images in the exact same angle and perspective, with a held object (but we most definitely do not need to be the models!)

I think MEAN might still have it, but he told us all that he will take an indefinite break from CWs; I wanted to ask about that gun and see if we can do anything to redeem it though. I don't know about the others, as there are so many CW artists, and I just don't get the pings to all of them (not all artists ping customwear , even when they're starting) - but I shall start scouring.

I found out that it's not just the angle for "held" items on the HA's left hand which is wonky, the same goes for items held on the right hand!

Sorry on eavesdropping, but... holy shit, that's why we have no CW guns on site yet? They are just picky and point at for tips?? I was wondering why no one seemed to release any, to the point of double checking if held items are allowed at all. And silently planning to try and draw one even though my current handgun/revolver needs edge more towards the TC-related. I'm really kicking myself that I missed 's attempt right now.

If you two are planning any kind of holy crusade do count me in, I can at least argue snarkily if situation demands it ._.

I don't mind - not so sure about Shalashaska, but I'm sure he won't mind either. MEAN's attempt was really picked on initially for the CI being TC-based (it was a gun in a decoy box), then later for the angles, and THEN they mentioned the thing about the angle, eugh. Honestly, that official item doesn't even have a proper angle for a gun held that way though!

I see... The wearable version of the official item could as well be copy paste from the item image, rotated a bit to fit the hand. In fact I have strong suspicions that's exactly what it is, other than the barrel seems to be a bit more crooked. So let us not talk about proper gun angles~

True, I'd rather not question it too much until I could come with a proof, and with those images I have in mind. Now that I look at the item and the overlay though, that's exactly what it seems to be. The barrel in the overlay looks a bit more lopsided though.

This is me you're talking to ;) MGS all the time, every day for breakfast. I'm thinking a small tribute to either The Patriot, EVA's Chinese replica with the name I can never remember or the gun she gives to Naked Snake (shiny).

Loose plan of action: Collect images. Make suggestion that there is a page of examples showing the IDEAL for what Subeta wants, including where held items should be. Feedback on the stupidity (note to self, reword, likely to offend _ ) of the 3/4 rule that doesn't really seem to work with held items.

Happy to have you on board ! That revolver, ugh, I hate that that or the gun holsters are like my only choices for one on here, the item image for the winsome rogue gun holsters is beautiful, even if you can only see half the weapon ;) the Oddly Ornate Revolver... fire it and you're only going to shoot the ground if it fires at all, if one of us drew a gun that crooked, it would never pass. I'll agree though, the first thing I thought when I saw that gun was that the item image and the overlay image were the same damn thing, normally the item image for small items is an excuse to add more detail, apparently this was rushed or careless. Why make a tribute item and not work hard on it? I can't not work hard on my CWs, I'm going to see them on the site, I'm going to use them myself, WTF would I want it to look careless?

I'm thinking of making a ping group, I suspect there will be a number of people interested in this, if only we can find them...

Count me on board. I'm not that great of an artist but I am very good at bitching writing overly long proposals arguing my point of view. So if you show me the faults in the artwork (That I can't see clear as day.) I should be able to whip up a good hunk of text tearing them apart. Not to mention that you can put me down for a slot on this as-of-yet nonexistent weapon right now. I'm tried of working with a cardboard cutout shotgun.

Always P: Yes, I agree it's pretty weird, especially since I believe it was a token shop item. I would understand a random free gift looking like an afterthought but...

Well, maybe try pinging fans of this MGS of yours ignorant non-gamer's generalisation and a group dedicated to male wearables, I'm pretty sure that there is one. And Mean's thread still exists together with a list of people interested in that item, you could notify them as well.

Yeah, even though I don't have a huge amount of firearms experience, I totally would not hold one like the way the Oddly Ornate Revolver is positioned. XD

If I were posing for a picture with a firearm and I were holding it tilted against my hip like that, I think I'd feel too silly to make whatever the proper expression was on the first two tries. And if I were holding my violin like that, I think it would eat into my hand and I'd be afraid I'd drop it. You know, this almost makes me want to take some parody pictures of myself awkwardly holding items the way a Subeta HA does contrasted with the way I would normally hold them. And I just might, if it would help! XD

[small](Cropped to the item, of course, partly because my astigmatism does not look good on camera.)[/small]
