Yeah, it's disappointing to me that people are still treated differently for having piercings/dyed hair/tattoos when they're just out in public. I do understand why certain workplaces would want their employees to stay professional, and I definitely respect that and would have no problem following their rules. I figured that since I'm still in school I might as well make the most of having the freedom to do whatever I want with my hair.

I've always stuck with my platinum blonde, sometimes with brown and tan mixed in. I'm just too nervous to change it up. Not sure if the military would dig the colors, either.

whoaaa, your hair looks awesome. I totally want to get an undercut but I don't know if I am as brave as you to do the whole side xD. I really love the color you chose too. I currently have pink hair haha. I redyed on half of it so half is a darker pink than the other. My hair has been a bunch of different colors like bright blue, purple, red, and now pink. Ion and Splat are really good brands to use also :D

I used to have a red to blonde ombre I totally recommend it. It would be super adorable :] Unfortunately I'm unsure about the military thing, I would assume red wouldn't be too much of a problem.

You can totally do a small patch from the side of your forehead to your ear. I never realized how dramatic my side cut was until I #'d it on Instagram. Most girls only do half of what I did. I'm not even sure if it's a side cut anymore lol. I say go for it. Even just a little patch, you would be surprised at what you can pull off :]

this stuff and it works beautifully. I only bleached the first time, since then, I just dye my roots and do an all over touch up every 2 months, I hated the way the bleach ruined my hair. I use Nutrisse Garnier Color Shield to maintain it, and it keeps my hair soooo soft. I thought about going blue, but I just love the purple too much. I have been dyeing it this color for almost a year and a half now. Oh I love it so.

I just rarely wash my hair, and when I do I wash it separately from that daily shower in as cold of water as possible. I've heard good things about Splat but I haven't seen too many reviews on it. I may pick it up when I run out of Special Effects because Splat is more readily available.

And do color protect-ant shampoos really work? I wasn't sure the effect on veggie based odd colors.

- It seems to for me ? I do get fading after a few weeks to a month + in, but it's more a lavender/pink tone rather than washing out, just the bright/bold fades after a while. I don't know if Splat is vegan, so I don't know how Color Shield would interact w/ your dye, but it seems to work for me. I can't go more than 3 days without washing my hair, otherwise it gets very oily and ..... ick.

Isn't color shield the pink gel like shampoo, or is that Herbal Essence. Regardless I'm going to check it out, thank you.

Also a note for red heads, go to beauty supply stores and get a red depositing shampoo, they work!

I think I might actually give in. My hair's a little short, so hopefully it will turn out good! Thanks for the nudge! I'll probably talk to someone before I do, just so it doesn't screw me over later.

It'll always wash out. If you don't like it you can scrub it out with hand soap. My hair was lavender before and I used a toner + 2 hand soap washings to get it to that grey color so I could dye it blue without weird colors showing up.
