my pets have all been different. the fan pets are usually the easiest, you already have an idea of what they look like and who they are. Lincoln Lee came together super easy, as did Justin Timberlake (even though i want to redo his layout again).i generally start with a story and then trying to find an appropriate minion and suitable TC and go from there to making art and a profile for them.

For my OC pets the pictures generally came first and then the story. i envisioned a cultured looking guy making fun of fanfics when i created Caveat Lector long before his story of being a librarian came together.

so it just depends... /shrug.

Goodness. I just jump from pet to pet. There's a few I have ideas for, but no way to flesh out. And considering I'm really into fan pets right now, ergh... I just wanna work on those. x'3 I don't think I could work on just one pet at a time. Not enough variety.

Haha, I tend to work in bursts. Like... I haven't done real pet work beyond Treasure Chest stuff (which I never consider finished, ever) for weeks, then I made my first fandom pet -- Engarde, if you're curious -- and... well, I got bored a while ago and whipped up a profile for him in a couple of hours. xD; It's kind of bland -- especially since I can't draw his overlays and minion overlay yet (no tablet atm), and am currently too lazy to add the links and anchoring and whatnot, and lol I want to add his name but I have no idea what font to use -- and I'll probably tweak/redo it loads buuut yeah. xD

None of my other pets are fanpets, unless a pokeymans trainer OC counts as a fanpet... and I do my own art for all of my dumb OCs. I am !!super!! picky about the sort of art that is layout-worthy so it can take ages before I have a picture to use on the profile. And then I'm... oh god. I can do a standard layout no problem, all organized and neat and semi-pretty with gradients and divs and so on, doesn't take longer than a few hours... but I can get bored of those so I tend to want to do something more unique. But I have, like, literally no creativity for that sort of thing. So I just get kind of... ''oh... well...... someday I'll think of something good... someday... '' But really I need a miracle for inspiration. And as we all know... the miracle never happen.

Stories are just... LOL. I swear, I've lost any muse I ever had for writing. I know my characters' pasts and personalities quite, quite well, but I just. I can't write. I know I have some degree of writing ability somewhere in me, but I just... have no inspiration. I haven't had any for... quite a while. And even then, my characters are mostly all remakes of Neopets I made when I was like 13 and they're so goofy and dumb and ugh I am horribly embarrassed by them... but they're the characters that are dearest to me and fff.

... Lol, I can't even write this damn description for Engarde. I know what I wanna write, I just can't get it down... aaargh. I guess it's ok since I'm not planning on finishing him up until a certain friend plays the game he's from because I really don't want this friend to be spoilered but man...

I don't know if I'll ever finish all of my pets. Sure, some of them have stories/loose ideas in my head and I can always do the art, but I can't code for beans and don't even know where to start with it. I could commission profiles, but that'd require either using one code for all my pets or commissioning 14 different/unique profiles... ehhhh.

I sort of tend to collect good ideas for a long time, then suddenly sit down and intensively work on the profile for a few consecutive days until I get it done. I can't do something halfway and just leave it--I have to either do all of it or do none of it, and once I start to seriously work on a profile, I pretty much drop everything else.

I can already envision what several of my remaining profiles are going to look like, but I'm currently forcing myself to put off the rest of them so I don't screw myself over neglecting my responsibilities to finish them. When I was working on the two I have done at the moment I swear I would do NOTHING ELSE. o_0
