Unfortunately, I think if the item were taken away it would become a CSC-only feature. :( Also, I like gifting people slots sometimes, so I'm not sure I'd like if the item was retired.

I feel pretty secure that gaining TC slots will never become CSC only; it'd be like making training your pet or raising its intelligence CSC only.

A couple of people have mentioned that MKBs make nice gifts, so if the the item was retired or was made easier to buy they'd miss gifting it - and I agree, MKBs are my go-to 'thank you' gift since they're not too expensive and most people appreciate them. But...I mean, the reason they're nice gifts is because the process of buying them is such a pain. I'd rather make a basic feature of pet building easier - there'd still be plenty of great gifts on site.

I hope you're right! Even though I don't use TCs, I wouldn't want it to become a CSC-only feature.

I think your idea is good, but I think it could be improved by allowing users to purchase slots for someone else somehow, whether by using the existing item, a new "voucher" item, or by directly buying it by entering the person's username and pet name.

This is a great suggestion but I enjoy having an actual item tied to this feature since it can be gifted. I would prefer an additional way to pay sP for TC slots if it isn't connected to an item.

What is the reasoning behind the time limit on the Millionaire shop anyway? Why limit how often a user can buy if its supposed to be an sP sink? Is that limit still a valid thing to have? If not, maybe we should just be talking about removing the limit (or vastly shortening it) rather than changing the MKB. It was ages ago, but if I'm remembering correctly that limit was put in place when they put GAs in there.

Right now all my pets have more slots than they are using, but I bought bunches of the MKB when I was getting the TC achievements, and I didn't mind the wait too much. I just set the alarm and did it. I would stock pile the boxes, then open a bunch at once so it wasn't quite so frustrating. I like the option of getting up to 3 slots, even though 1s seemed most common (but that could be observer bias, I never actually tested it).

The time limit is probably there to prevent these items that are meant to be relatively rare from flooding the shops. It'd be nice if the limit was lowered, though. At least for GA users. THAT would be an actually useful perk.

I don't support this.

Some Achievements are harder than others. Some parts of pet improvement are harder than others. Not everything has to happen at any particular user's sP-accumulation pace.

I support this, having over the years at least 10 pets at one time with over 100 tc slots each it is a pain. I don't mind dishing out 200k a box to buy them in bulk but when I already stockpiled and decide to use it and have items to put in their treasures that it is a hassle. It is not that is is a hard improvement as solsticesprite is implying, it is more difficult making the pet noticeable by means of graphics, overlays and storylines, as well stats increases, than to add in treasure.

I agree with this so much. I honestly have no motivation to work on my pets' TC's because I have to buy these dumb items. haha If I could just buy slots directly, all their TC's would probably be filled by now.

So anyway, support 100%.

Ohhh this would be lovely. I'd much rather just straight-up pay for the slots, I think. Some of my pets have fairly large treasures (Camilla has over 300 slots, Merrill has nearly 200, etc), and it's seriously one of my favorite pet features since I love TC building, but I friggin' hate MKBs like no tomorrow. It's a non-convenience item nowadays, and since the site is going towards a more steamlined aspect (direct pet and user name changes, etc) this would be great and imo a pretty effective sP sink.

I'm not sure if this has been suggested yet, but if you like this idea, feel free to put in into your original post! But as far as gifting other users slots, maybe they could implement a feature where you can send someone slots (think of like how you can buy someone else a potion lottery ticket), and then they can decide which pets to give those slots to (so if you buy them 5, they could give 3 to one pet and 2 to another, or something).

I would love this SO SO SO SO Much.

I've opened Hundreds/thousands MKB and because I know its such a pain in the ass I really don't bother anymore. Something like this would be 100% better and easier and I would probably start working on my pets again.

I have actually been tracking my slot gain via MKB after getting 9 1-slots in a row.

Out of the last 17 boxes I have opened, I have gotten:

9 1-slots, 4 2-slots, and 4 3-slots.

The problem with that argument is that this it really isn't that hard, it's just artificially harder by adding a stupid timer and RNG to it. You still have to work just as hard to get the Sp needed for it, but you don't have to put up with the artificial "difficulty" of the timer or the bologna randomness that pretty much ruins anything.

What's the difference between buying MKBs through the MC [assuming you get 3 slots each time] to get 50 treasure slots and getting 50 treasure slots by just outright buying them in one swoop? Answer: at least a week probably more [and probably a buttload more Sp that you really shouldn't need to spend because your not going to get 3 slots with each MKB]. Not everyone wants to spend that long just completing a pets treasure chest. It's not really removing any difficulty -because again you still have to save up that Sp, the main thing you do in the first place- it's just getting rid of all the ridiculous and nonsensical waiting.

It would be a great Sp sink. I would be alright with paying 150K for 3 slots, since that's the max you can get for 3 slots. I want this now.

it is precisely hard and a hardship because you have to wait or pay more money and indeed it is the waiting and spending that people who support this idea do not like.

The alternative to waiting, if you don't like to do this, is to pay other people for their time, the twelve hours that they themselves had to spend to get the MKB themselves. Any of all-y'all here on this thread may not like doing this, but other users have done.

If all you-all are talking about sP sinks mainly and MKBs are just a sideline to this main idea, then this Suggestion is not phrased properly. Any and all MC items are sP sink, in particular since an MKB is only worth a tenth of a mill and a single one of the 5M-priced collectable Beach Bag is nearly fifty times as much, repeatable sP sinks already exist. Do you think another repeatable sP sink is necessary and would be fun? This is fine. But don't mess with MKBs on that pretense.

Yeah, I'm still working on the pet that prompted me to make this thread. I must have spent a few million sP now over a week or so on MKBs - a chunk of which went to user shops because I just wanted to get started and have some slots to start playing with, and then the rest on the MC while I buy a couple more items to put in each day. I've spent quite a lot, it's taken quite a long time, the whole process of opening boxes and adding items has been fiddly and unfun, and my pet stills feels nowhere near done. Not even partially done.

I love the idea of TCs and Subeta has such a huge pool of cool, unusual, beautiful items that collecting them together to fit a character should be so much fun. But using MKBs is just so dull, expensive and fiddly.

Oh man, I would love a nicer system for pet treasure. One of my pets is a geologist, so any item that is a rock or mineral will eventually get added to his treasure chest... and let me tell you, that's a lot of items. I've barely begun and I'm already sick of it XD

I am actually not nearly as bothered by the wait as I am by spending 12 hours + 150k for 1 slot. I would rather the RNG be tweaked to throw less 1's or just do away with it altogether and have a flat 150k=3 slots.
