Yeah I'm feeling a little underwhelmed with the VIP thing so far too, but then I guess it's difficult for staff to create an enjoyable VIP experience without overly annoying those who were unable to get VIP tickets.
To be honest I'm enjoying the rest of the event too much to care about the VIP thing though. ^-^ And there are still 5 days left!
- that's an interesting suggestion to have them for sale for 24 hours and then take them out of the Cash Shop and only release normal tickets after that. We'd still get people that were upset that they'd missed that day, and that might still end up with much more tickets on site than we'd wanted (which wouldn't make them VIP, in my opinion, it would just make them a more expensive ticket).
The way we looked at it, is that you're getting the entry ticket + a package of 5 extra VIP items, + an extra item on each food truck menu, + access to the VIP lounge + the achievements + another little extra thing that hasn't happened yet, all for $2.50. The same as one item in the monthly collection. This felt like /overkill/ to us - originally there was only going to be the five items that the tickets came with, but we opted for the lounge too so we could add in the achievement feature.
How users have chosen to buy and sell the lounge items is out of our hands, we weren't going to make them account bound items, or make them cost a huge amount as VIPs usually get things for cheap or even free. They were more of a humour set of items based on what experiences we've had in VIP areas before.
(Also, we have been trying to theme the VIP items a little - after Tempest's showers, we had the tissues for your inevitable summer cold for example - but also we've just been trying to do /nice/ things that are items that users would want, or that could be consumed and enjoyed.)
I thought they were pretty upfront about what came with the VIP ticket. When you buy it in the cash shop, you get the bonus items with it. You get to go to the VIP tent (I don't know what others may have expected, but its pretty much what I was expecting). There's an achievement in it - and I was pleasantly surprised to see two achievements and that you could get one even if you couldn't attend every day.
Most of the hype came from users speculating unrealistically and the cash grab for tickets sold between users.
I get people being upset about spending millions on the ticket from other users and not getting the extra items.
Overall I've enjoyed the VIP experience. Its at least what I expected when I bought the VIP Ticket, and in some cases more than I expected. And as others have said, it ain't over yet.
Because they were limited, I wouldn't want to see the VIPs getting a lot more than regular users. Its one thing if you don't choose to spend the CSC, but if you're willing, but can't get a ticket because its not available, then every single perk the VIPs get makes it that much more unpleasant for the regular Peka-Boo attendees.

As I said next time maybe just tell us what the perks for beeing a VIP are before we get the ticket? I get what you're saying and I realize that I did get something, but I would have never bought the ticket in the first place just for the 5 extra items since I don't like any of them. To be honest I caved just cause there was so much hype that I was worried I was gonna miss something amazing, I feel I' ve been played a little, thou maybe that wasn't the intention.
It could be less time, or even less time twice (like, once from noon to two, then another set from midnight to two am?), with a few sets being Hustled maybe? Idk, I mean I don't have a life so I caught several restocks but I could easily see how frustrating it could be to always miss them. Just something to keep in mind maybe, for the future?
Anyways I mean I haven't been really disappointed with the VIP stuff par say (I wasn't hoping for anything extravagant at all), just some in regards to the none-themed items (the tissues were fun, and the TP for sure). Like the Oatmeal items and today's plushie seemed better suited to the yurt shop, than the VIP area Y'know? I was hoping for something that either fit a theme, or something. Like a sparkly limited edition VIP Oatmeal plushie with shades on, or something like that XD
I don't feel shorted or anything (unless the achievement doesn't work for visiting everyday) (that's another story though), and the items haven't been underpar, I just expected something more along the lines of the tissues or TP, or even daily booze/refreshments.
The only thing I'm a little disappointed with is that there's only one new VIP item for sale every day. I was hoping there would be three, like with Melody's cottage.
Eh, I'm alright with the VIP perks so far. (and this is coming from someone who usually can't even afford to buy CSC at all...I had to buy the CSC card for my VIP ticket from user shops) Gotta be a VIP to pet Oatmeal and get the cute minion after all. ;3 I bought it with hopes of decent VIP items, and because I loved the sunglasses from the bonus items you got from actually getting it from the cash shop, and I can't say I'm disappointed. n_n I mean, I suppose it would depend largely on what sort of items you were hoping for, but it seems to me like they're trying to appeal to everyone given that there's food, wears, and other collection items...so it can't all meet everyone's approval.

Honestly when I first saw the VIP tickets, I didn't care, I figured it'd be like epicon and they just had a few extra items (the items that came with purchasing a ticket), an nothing else
So when the VIP tent was confirmed I didn't raise my expectations much but grabbed a ticket just in case. Honestly if it weren't for the achievement I wouldn't bother with VIP, it's easy enough to find a user to sell you the items
That being said, it's still what I expected, but I agree that the way they were sold really hyped them up
This is like the Hustler Boxes that came off his trucks all over again - High expectations and then general disappointment.

I actually really enjoy my VIP ticket so far, the achievements and cool daily items make it a fun experience... for me, at least. Two dollars and fifty cents is nothing in REAL money. I choose to support the site when I can and getting the cute little vip package was a nice gesture as well. I understand that others could be cheesed off when converting sP into CSC, I wouldn't want to do that personally. I'm definitely not made of sP :P But I'm satisfied with how this event has played out so far and I'm really looking forward to battle of the bands NOW PLS :P
I feel like it wasn't a waste of csc at all. So far I'm liking the VIP perks, although I am hoping for more. 250 csc was worth it. Glad I got it - originally thought about not buying one
I'm okay with the VIP ticket results. I feel it's more tangible ( to me) than leashing a pet, and it's about what I expected, although given the pre-event hype I can see how folks might feel it's underwhelming.
I'm spending far more to get achievements from that stupid Shrub. In comparison, the VIP ticket is an amazing deal.
I agree with , it would just be easier to release the VIP tickets for a set amount of time once or twice, and just give us some advance notice, than to release them at random times throughout the day. That was hectic, and I read somewhere (I believe from ) that more tickets ended up going out than they wanted to in the first place anyway. Hell, make them one per person if you have to, so there will be less extras floating around. And if you can't get online for one of those times, that's on you.
As a new player, I didn't have enough WT to buy a normal ticket, so the VIP ticket was the only option for me if I wanted to attend. I can't help but wonder if I would have a different opinion of things if I had enough at that time. The ticket wasn't really that expensive though, so I'm not really that bitter.

I can honestly say that I've not really liked anything in the VIP tent yet. I'm hoping something cool will appear, but so far... no such luck.
I have to agree that some of the items look like they aren't quite... VIP, but more of the Fashion Yurt/Merch tent items.
One thing I was REALLY hoping for was an exclusive VIP forum... but there is no event forum at all this go around, except for BotB.

The problem is the VIP tent.
Instead of paying for items, VIP ticket holders should have gotten 1-3 of each item for visiting the tent each day.
One for themselves, a (possible) couple others to resell as time passes.
Well, I'm wondering about something else.. (Everything hypothetically!) Someone named X snagged a VIP ticket via the Cash Shop but his best friend Y (rl buddy or bff, I don't care) was too slow and/or realized after the selling that he wanted to be one too, would Y be able to get the achievements if X gave Y his ticket for half an hour each day?
I actually thing I got my money worth. I got the initial items and "exclusive" VIP items daily. As an achievement hunter and someone working towards the wardrobe and 45k individual items achievements I am happy! So many cool things plus I mean really people, we get to pet a goat! hehe I had goats for several years so this makes me smile! The event is not over! I look forward to more things to add to the hoard! Yay items!!
I like 's idea of a discount in the other areas of the site. I thought it might have been included to be honest XD
Anddd I thought there would be some pretty art with links in the VIP tent, not just a list of items I can buy.
Other than that I'm alright with what we got, I guess. More would be nice but we shall wait and see what comes :D
I've also been wondering about 's theory too. I've heard it is possible to get into the tents by lending the ticket to someone so I'm assuming they can ticket share and both get the achievement.
