The girl who survived this must be insanely lucky.

I can't imagine ever wanting to have something to do with "slenderman" to the point where I would kill a person, especially at twelve years old... This is crazy.

Adding to this, I am finding news articles about another attack tonight floating around. This time a 13 year old girl attacked her mom, Cincinatti Ohio.

WLWT5 News

I wish I could find a more reliable news source, the article is also listed on a bunch of garbage "news" sites like perezhilton. Anyways it sounds like this happened before the WI case and they are coming forward now. But no article mentions the actual date, not even when they interviewed the mother. This could all be sensationalism.

Anyways about the main story here...I believe that evil can come in all shapes, colors, sizes and ages. Yes I believe 12 year old girls can commit acts of evil. It's not because of Slendy, they were their own ticking time bomb (at least one of the two) and there's defiantly some parenting fail. I hope the parents are deeply investigated also, and because they are responsible for their young daughters they should be partially held responsible for their actions.

I'm bummed that when bad things happen people are always finger pointing at something else that supposedly caused it and not themselves. I have played a Slenderman games, watched many "let's play" of other Slenderman games and have seen some of Marblehornet's youtube videos. He's just a internet boogieman. When I was growing up I use to fool around with my friends a lot about ghosts and other spooky things. But I always knew they weren't 100% real and were not going to hurt me. I don't think that I'm not the only one who feels that all this public attention on Slenderman has ruined what we call fun and harmless.

This is so nuts. Honestly, I don't feel that bad that they're being tried as adults.

Kids can believe all sorts of strange things, but usually this leads to innocent stuff--I used to believe silly rituals were magic, santa, the tooth fairy, whatever.

If it leads to believing it's acceptable to hurt or kill someone, there's an underlying problem with empathy and those are wires are pretty fucking hard to uncross.

I hope people don't take this as an excuse to point the finger and Slenderman/the internet/Something Awful because that's just sweeping the real problem of the girl's psychological issues under the rug. It's like drinking--people don't get violent when they drink unless the capacity for violence was already there. An internet phenomenon in and of itself can't induce this kind of stuff.
