[font=timesnewroman] As the bus rumbled along Holly was seated near the front, headphones in and sketching her heart out. Sketching in a vehicle was usually tough, but she managed to get into a position that didn’t make her hand move too much. After a while she was shaken from her art induced trance by the overly enthusiastic bus drivers’ hollering. The brunette smiled and packed up her things before looking out the window excitedly. Sure, most of the people on this bus probably thought camp was lame and where whining about the lack of cell service, but not Holly. This was her first time to camp and she’d been saving for years. A silly thing to save for, maybe, but she’d always wanted to go.
The bus slowed to a stop and Holly made her way off the bus, following other sullen looking teenagers. In the opening she saw a man feverishly shouting and gesturing to different areas around camp. Holly saw the signs posted all around and chose instead to go straight to her cabin. She looked at the posted sign and saw she resided in cabin two. As she picked up her bags she wondered what her bunkmates were going to be like. Halfway down the trail she realized she probably should have packed less, because her bags were ridiculously heavy.
A very short while later (even though it felt like an eternity), she arrived at cabin two and pushed open the door. The room was cleaner than she expected, but she noticed that she was alone in her room for the time being. “Well this is kind of a bummer,” she thought aloud as she lugged her bags into the cabin and tossed them onto one of the lower bunks. Holly flopped onto one of the beds, to get a feel for the comfort of course, and laid there for a minute or two. After a while she heard people moving about outside and figured she should go join up with the rest of the campers. With a sigh she heaved herself off the bed and left the room.
The walk seemed shorter than before as she made her way to the clearing. She saw many new faces (some of them very handsome) as she entered the midst of all the teenagers. Her eyes darted around as she tried to find someone to talk to. She was very good at conversing once she got to know a person, but meeting somebody knew proved challenging for her. A few people looked friendly enough, but being as she was the most awkward duckling in the pond, she decided to wait and see if anyone would talk to her. In the meantime she preoccupied herself with listening to the frantic yelling man attempting to direct new campers.

Savannah looked up at the girl and opened her mouth to answer her when she heard a male voice. She turned her head and see's an attractive boy walking towards her, who introduces himself as Evan. "Yes, i am in fact building a fire. I was planning on having a lakeside bonfire tonight, but nobody seemed to interested," She explained to the two that decided to join her. "i'm Savannah by the way, nice to meet you guys." she finished with a smile. "Hey Nova, i've always wanted to dye my hair that color, it's gorgeous." Savannah decided that maybe she should befriend these two, they seemed like good party buddies.
She turned back to Evan, "If you want, you could help me find some firewood and help spread the word. I think people would be more willing to go if they knew a handsome guy like you is gonna be there." She tried to keep from blushing, but she felt her face heating up so she looked away for a quick second. "Unless you didn't plan on going" She added quickly, wondering why she just assumed anyone would wanna show up. "You're invited too Nova, i mean if you aren't doing anything tonight." Looking back to the girl. Savannah really needed to work on her social skills.
[edit] sorry this was late, i had school projects to finish. next week i have finals and im graduating high school so i may not be on as often, but i'll try to reply quickly!
Nova looked between the boy who introduced himself as Evan and then to Savannah. "Why not? I mean if I had service I was going to yell at my cousin all night." Nova stood up and looked around for any places to start for firewood. "I'll help look for firewood. I'm not big with people so." She shrugged as she then looked back out at the water. "Thanks, I'm a natural ginger but I prefer the darker reds. I could help you dye it sometime too." She sent a friendly smile in Savannah's direction then turned to the boy. "I'm Nova." She introduced herself. She got out of the water and went over to her things. "I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to come. It's a bonfire by a beautiful lake. We could tell ghost stories and listen to music. I don't really know what goes on at bonfires so you'll have to forgive me." She let out a sigh as she put her shoes back on.
Due to the fact that she had Juliet, Nova didn't go out as much because she didn't like going out and partying while Juliet was home with her parents. Another reason was because she didn't talk to a bunch of people in her class as it is, so why bother? Usually she stayed home playing video games or went to dance to work on whatever she could. Nova let out another sigh before looking at the lake.
Isaac smiled at the boy who introduced himself as Lucius, "Well I have to say that you will most likely be the talk of the camp," He looked to Poppy for a moment and then to him, "But of course that always isn't a bad thing." He shrugged then looked to his new friend, "Will we be making this duo friend thing a trio?" He asked her as he put his hands behind his head. "Well I'm glad, I wouldn't want anyone to get heat stroke. Though you are lucky heat doesn't bother you as much." He told Lucius being slightly jealous that Lucius could handle the heat better than he, himself could. "What do you want to do?" He asked the two as he looked around the field for some activity. Maybe take a walk or sit in the shade? Or maybe explore. It was up to the two he was standing with anyway. Isaac did notice how small groups were forming anyway.

Ian looked up at the sound of a small group talking about a possible bonfire tonight. He and Katherine had taken a walk around the edge of the lake and had been so into their little conversation of past memories that he had not noticed the small group who had been gathered there by the lake. He walked over to the three. “Hey, I couldn’t help overhearing something about a bonfire? Oh, I’m Ian, by the way,” he said with a smile as he looked from the girl who seemed to be in charge of the planning to the other two who were with her. “This is Katherine,” he added as he looked over to his friend who had been standing beside him in silence.
Katherine smiled and said a small hello which was barely audible. She wasn’t too great around people she didn’t know, but she’d try her best. She was kind of looking forward to the said bonfire and it’d be nice to make some friends. Her stay here would be more fun that way. The girl then dropped her cigarette and put it out with her shoe before looking out towards the lake.
ooc: I was gonna wait for someone else to reply, but apparently nobody is so I'll just go. haha. P:
bic: Evan smiled at the mention of a bonfire. This was just his type of scene, as well as Jenna's. If the whole thing worked out, tonight would be amazing.
"Handsome? Nice one. I've never been called handsome before." Evan laughed with a half-hearted smiled. "I'd be more likely to scare people off, I think, but I'd love to come. I'll for sure tell my friend Jenna about it at least. This is just the type of thing that'll make her warm up to the camp."
He motioned off into the distance where Jenna was sitting under the tree. "I guess you two can meet her later. She's being moody over there or something right now. Anyway, it's really great to meet you Savannah, and you too Nova."
Another pair of people had walked up by the time Evan was done talking. The boy immediately seemed like someone Evan would get along really easily with, and though the girl was obviously quiet, Evan couldn't help noticing how pretty she was.
"Hey Ian, hey Katherine. I'm Evan, in case you missed that," Evan said, flashing a quick smile at the pair, but it was mostly directed toward Katherine. He stood up and brushed off the back of his shorts and finished, "Well, I suppose I'll go get some firewood then. If anyone wants to accompany me, that would be great."
Tucking his sketchpad under an arm, Xane swung down from the tree with perfect ease, landing with a cat-like grace. Taking a second to catch his camera before slinging the bag on his shoulder along with his plaid shirt, the raven turned to Jenna, offering her a hand up, "I probably should introduce myself before threatening you, Xane, it's nice to meet you." The slight hint of his heritage sneaking into his greeting as he gave the other a polite smile.

After a while of having no luck with her obviously brilliant plan of standing there doing nothing, Holly sighed and decided maybe, just maybe, she should initiate conversation for once. She looked around for any potential friends and her eye latched on to the spot near the lake. It was shady and there seemed to be people conversing. She mustered up all the courage she had and slowly made her way over. After a few moments of trekking through the sea of people, Holly approached the group near the edge of the lake. Holly thought she heard word of a bonfire, but she didn’t like to pry. She took a moment to stop and collect herself before advancing on the group. Is everyone here this attractive? she pondered. She got close to them and was about to say something but she instead decided an awkward pause was the best thing to do. Yeah. After a few seconds she managed to blurt out, “Hi guys, I’m Holly. Sorry if I’m intruding but you all seemed pretty nifty.” She tried to smile and hoped it didn’t look too stupid. ‘Nifty? NIFTY? Who freaking uses that word anymore? What is wrong with meeeee?!’ she thought. Holly hoped dearly that nobody noticed how stupid she was and focused on something else. She played with some fraying threads of her shorts as she waited for someone to respond.

“Please, I could care less of what opinions they make of me but I least I have an existence here and people actually acknowledge my presences whether they want to or not.” Lucius stated as he looked to Isaac.
“Temperature will only affect you if you allow it to do so but I don’t recommend pushing your limits by walking out in the Sahara desert in a parka or wear a swimsuit in the dead of the Antarctic winter. I suppose what we can do is proceed in identifying of all our fellow inmates – wait, I mean campers – here while we still have the free time to do so. That way when we walk up to them throughout our time here we won’t have the embarrassment of calling them by ‘hey you over there’, ‘that guy/gal’ or the ever infamous ‘whats-his/her-face’. Its sounds tedious but it’ll keep us from dealing any more problems down the road. After we do we can go back to doing what everyone loves so much: nothing."
Jenna accepted Xane's hand and pulled herself up off the ground. She got her first good look at him and noticed he was rather adorable which caused her to falter for a moment, but she managed to return his smile. When he spoke, she could have sworn she heard the slightest bit of an accent, but she didn't want to ask about it for fear of sounding stupid.
"Xane, that's a cool name. It's nice to meet you too. I'm Jenna," She replied, mentally rolling her eyes at herself. That's a cool name? That's the best thing she could come up with? Well, she managed to sound stupid anyway.
"So, you like to draw? I do too." She motioned slightly to his sketchbook. "It's mostly just a hobby for me though."
Meanwhile, Evan glanced at another girl approaching the rapidly growing group by the lake.
"Well, I don't think there's any worry about people not showing up to this bonfire now," He laughed. "Suddenly we're very popular over here."
He gave another one of his charming signature smiles to the girl who introduced herself as Holly. "There's another first; I don't think I've ever been called nifty either, but I like it." Evan laughed. "I'm Evan. Welcome to our little group, Holly."
Nova noticed how people were coming over. "I'm Nova." She smiled to the three who joined the group before she fixed her shoes. "I've always liked the word nifty. Goes along with my hippie van." She laughed as she put her phone in her front pocket. She stretched and looked to the other five there. "Well, three of us can get firewood and the other three can set up here." She said to everybody, though she noticed the girl named Katherine, she had put out a cigarette. "Do you happen to have your pack on you?" Nova asked the girl even though Ashlyn gave Nova strict instructions of no smoking and her 'healthier habit' lollipops and nicotine patches. Letting out an awkward sigh she looked at everyone, "Does that sound like a good plan?" She asked, slightly unsure of herself.

The once small group of campers seemed to be growing by the second. The two introduced themselves and Katherine, feeling a bit more relaxed and comfortable now, gave a friendly smile to the girl named Nova and nodded when asked if she had her pack on her. “Sure do,” she replied as she reached into her bag. She pulled out her pack and offered the girl. “I think I’m fine with staying here and setting up,” she added before turning to Ian. The boy seemed to have taken some interest to the new girl Holly and Katherine could tell. She smirked at him when Ian finally turned her way and he quickly looked away from his friend and over to Nova. “I’ll help find some firewood,” he offered. He knew why Kat smirked. He wasn't sure how but the girl always knew who he was interested in and who seemed interested in him. One thing was for sure, though. Katherine would probably tease him about it later.
OOC: Hey guys I won't be able to respond until like tomorrow or something. Just a heads up! c: Hope you all are doing good~
EDIT: OOC:Since nobody's posted I think I'll keep the ball rollin'.
Holly let out a small sigh as she looked around the wooded area. She didn't realize it til now, but even though the camp itself could use work visually, the nature really was quite pretty. Nothing like her parents house in the suburbs. There was some foliage here and there, but certainly nothing as raw and peaceful as where she was now. Holly took a moment to reflect before turning to look at Katherine and Ian's interesting exchange. She wondered for a moment what the smirking was about. Did she zone out and miss a joke someone told? It wouldn't be the first time. 'It's probably just a silly inside joke thing between them.' she thought. Holly wondered for a moment about their story. They were obviously friends. Did they meet last year or have they known each other for a while? She figured she'd find out soon enough. After she had her fun conversing with herself, she decided that she'd like to get a better lay of the land and spoke, "Actually I'd like to take back what I said earlier. I think I'd like to help find firewood, if that's okay with everyone else. I could use the exercise!" She chuckled cause she knew that exercise was something that didn't exist in her world. Not anymore at least.

Poppy rocked back and forth on her heels, clicking her tongue for a moment, eyeing Lucius and then looking to her friend Isaac and grinning. "Exploring sounds fun but, not right now. Maybe later." She cocked an eyebrow at what Lucius was saying, kind of confused as to why he spoke the way he did. "You know, I'm going to sound like a really, typical dumb blonde, but you're really smart! I'm not sure I've met someone around my age that is so...well, smart. I have a damn lack of big vocabulary words, which makes me vulnerable to blonde jokes! You know, those are pretty funny." She twisted a lock of her fine hair around her finger and grinned. "We should definitely make this a trio. I like you, Lucius. You're different. I haven't met anyone quite like you." There was a twinkle in her eye as she said this, indicating she meant it. "Why don't we find a shady spot and just talk for now? Doesn't seem like there's much planned for a while." Poppy looked to Isaac for support in her idea, finding the boy nice, and sweet too.
