I'm doing Camp NaNo right now, is anyone else doing it? I'm so glad it has customizable word goals, I've always failed in November because I wasn't ready to write over a thousand words every day. 10,000 words in a month feels a lot more manageable than 50,000 to me.
A couple of friends and I are planning to do Camp NaNo in July. :) Two of us are too busy with school at the moment, so we couldn't have done it in April.
- Anyone camping this year? I think I might. Depends on how the new job goes. I start the week before July.
That's a ping group I wasn't expecting to come up yet. xD Anyway, good luck with the new job! =3
As for the camp...I've heard/gotten emails about it but never really looked into it, but I probably wouldn't be able to do it this year anyway. We're about to move, so there's that whole awkward adjustment period to having to settle into a new place and unpack.

- Thanks. I just did the whole move thing last week. I think I might be settled enough by July to do it.
- I thought april was scriptmo, not camp. Anyway, were you successful in your 10k words? Also, are you part of the nano group on subeta? They have helped me get through and win nano in the past :)
I'm not, but that's mostly because I'm taking the novel I've been working on since I started participating in ANYTHING NaNo and turning it into a Pathfinder campaign using whatever I had already made and tweaking it to work better for role playing. c:
I'll probably coming up with something new for November, but until then, it's Pathfinder time. :D

- Script Frenzy didn't have enough interest/participation to continue, so it got scrapped and a second Camp session added.
I did the April session, and I'm starting ML prep for November, so I'll probably skip July. Good luck, anyone who jumps in!
- I was gonna try for ML this year, but then I moved, and my new region isn't looking for MLs. :(
- Applications aren't out yet, so if you really want to help out, you could send a nano-mail to your new region's MLs and ask if they want help. It won't hurt to toss an application in anyway when they do come out, and if they don't want a stranger to be their co-ML, they could probably still use a minion to help set up chairs and whatnot. (Dear god, I could use someone to set up chairs.)
Still planning on participating in the July session myself, yes.
I completely forgot about Camp NaNo! I'd love to give it another try this year but my summer classes have been keeping me really busy so I probably won't have the time for it.
- w00!
- That sounds like a good idea. I'm a little iffy though, because, although this is where I grew up, I haven't lived here in 8 years. I dunno if i know the region well enough to be of any help. But i can always try.
- Helping unofficially this year might be the best plan, then. And even just showing up and being a friendly, enthusiastic wrimo is a pretty good way to help; I know I'm always afraid no one will come, or that people will be bored if they do come.
No Camp NaNo for me this year. :( I'm hoping I can pull myself together enough to participate in NaNo come November though.
hmm i want to do july camp but i dont have a novel right now :3 may or may not be a small problem...
Well, you've still got almost a couple weeks to brainstorm before the writing is supposed to start. Think up a setting, general storyline and some characters, go with a lower word count goal so you have time to stop and think as necessary, and just dive in a figure things out as you go.
Speaking of, at the moment I'm setting up a private cabin with a friend of mine. We're both just doing 10k word goal this time. If anyone here would like to join our cabin, tell me your username and I'll invite you.
I'm definitely doing the July session. Mainly so I can practice for November. 50,000 words comes ways to easily for me...I use NaNo as an excuse not to do school papers, so the more words I write, the less time I spend on those papers. Which may be a bad thing...eh.

As long as you don't fail your classes, who am I to judge? xD
I've set up a private cabin with a friend of mine. If anyone on Subeta wants to be in a cabin with other Subeta people, tell me your username for Camp NaNo and I'll invite you to ours.
- I haven't actually signed up yet. I wanna see how my first week at work goes first. What's the deadline for adding people to your cabin?
Hello my old friend! How are you? Somehow I ended up accidentally writing 12k for a random character backstory this past week... I'm not sure how... xD I don't think it counts, but that doesn't really matter to me xD
