Yes, I actually had one a bit earlier today, about my cousin who got in a wreck and we were trying to get to the hospital, and i was making everyone late and being yelled at b/c we were going to miss him dying ...
Which truly I hope doesn't happen. 'sigh'
Usually the really wake up screaming ones involve balloons and my phobia of them... and I have woken myself up screaming a few times ... at one point I was standing on my bed backed in the corner sobbing so hard when I woke up, I had a hard time calming down ... and i was like ... 26.
Hooray subconscious playtime.
collecting Only rarely do I get nightmares, but when I do, they are DAMN creepy. The psychology of it is so terrifying and so captivating all at once.

Wow. I have nightmares all the time. I really didn't think it was that... uncommon.
I used to when I was younger, but not really anymore. I remember I woke up screaming because some kid stole my Green Day tickets in one of my dreams! xD
I just remember a few, I was trapped in a barn that was on fire and a goat saved me.. I was three. Then a few more that I can't remember. But I do remember having a 'dream' where I got stabbed in the back by a claw, then woke up with a huge bruise on my back where the claw in my dream hurt me. It hurt a lot after that. ;-;
I haven't had them since I got my dream catcher last year.
I used to get weird/bad dreams a lot in the months before that, hence why mom got me one.
I have nightmares all the time. I'll tell you about a few.
One was fucked up. I was standing in an empty room with just a really tall stack of books. The stack toppled over right as my closet door came off of the track. I screamed and probably woke up the entire neighborhood.
Another was I walked into my mom's bedroom and Shaun was fucking another girl. I screamed at him to stop but he just kept going. I was pissed off at him because of a dream. o.o;
I sometimes have very vivid dreams of me just like walking random places and then a loud BOOM would scare me awake. Seriously, I'd jump, sit up in bed, and my heart would be pounding and I'd be on the verge of crying. I still don't know if they were in my dreams or real...
Most of my dreams feel like it's really happening.
One I remember was someone shot me through my window, and I FELT the bullet. Don't ask me why or how...I don't know.
I don't normally have many nightmares, but that last one I had made me wake up at like three AM and made me cry for like an hour. In my nightmare my dog died.:( And I heard my mom say in my dream, "It was probably because she didn't have her shots", which she didn't at the time, but thank GOD she has them now!
The reason I was scared about it was because a lot of my dreams that are kind of in the same layout as that one, they normally come true. Seriously, it's happened about four or so times!
I have nightmares 3/4ths of the time.
Almost ever since I can remember (since I was about 6) I've had horrific nightmares. They used to be nightly but now they're 50-75% of the time.
they're about being raped, being in a morgue, finding dead bodies someone dumped or finding these horrific scenes like something from Saw but worse.
The worst are the ones where I'm aware of being paralyzed because I'm asleep, and trying to scream in my sleep but not being able to.

I've had recurring nightmares about zombies (the reanimated-corpses-that-eat-human-flesh kind ala George Romero) since I was three years old. I have no idea where they came from - I saw my first zombie flick when I was 12 and I only watched it as an attempt to find a way to kill them in my dreams...and don't look at me like that. ;) They're triggered by stress which made school life VERY interesting, especially around mid-term and finals week. chuckles
I'm 34 now and I still occasionally have them when I'm under a tight deadline or I'm worried about something work-related. Of course now instead of running, I kill them. "Shoot the processor" is my motto. grins
I usually don't have nightmares, but I've had some recently because I'm so stressed over my ((ex?)) best friend. None of them actually cause me to wake up/scream/be terrified the rest of the day...I just get really upset and I'll cry myself to sleep the next night.
Also the falling dream is called a hypnic jerk.
They're not sure why it happens, they think that maybe it's because your muscles relax when you're falling asleep so your brain will sometimes think you're falling.

I don't really get nightmares anymore, but I'm horrified by dreams where my family members die, so I consider those nightmares. The most recent one was where a friend was talking to me and she suddenly morphed into .. I guess the closest comparison would be a human form of a 'nightmare' pet here on Subeta .. and tried to attack me.
I tend to only get nightmares when my feet stick out from under my blanket.. it's awfully strange.
very rarely. when i do they usually involve my father.
i have "scary" dreams sometimes that involve monsters and things that are generally scary but they dont leave me in a cold sweat when i wake up. theyre cool if anything.
nightmares to me is when i wake up crying or something.
i used to have nightmares all the time when i was little, mostly involving clowns and dolls. my mom bought me a dreamcatcher when i was 3 and i was nightmare free until we moved this december. which is when i started having nightmares again (albeit rarely)
haha i dont know if theres a connection. but i love clowns now.
Omg. I get nightmares all the time actually. Probably a good 4 nights out of the week I get them. Iono what's up with my brain but it sure likes scaring the crap outta me.. :/
I've had countless nightmares over the years, but I only get them very rarely anymore. I used to have two recurring nightmares for at least ten years of my life, it kinda sucked, but I don't get them anymore.
Monsters and the like don't scare me. What I would consider nightmares, to me, are the ones that involve real-life elements, such as a parent dying, realising I am dying of cancer or witnessing a terrible accident or being in one. I don't get them too often but when I do I am so, so relieved when I wake up and realise none of it's real.
i have night terrors... its even worse. sometimes i wake up in the middle of the night crying. its HORRIBLE. i had medicine for it... but yeah the side effects were even worse then just having the dreams, so theres not much i can do about it.
i actually sketch and write my dreams down, because i plan on turning them into short horror stories and compile them together like HP Lovecraft.
