it's so annoying, especially since they're recordings so i can't yell at them.

I HATE PHONES D: sometimes when the phone rings i run away and pretend to go to the bathroom so someone else has to answer it o__o

Do you have call display? You could always just ignore the calls. :P

Usually, after you listen to the whole message, they have a number to push to be taken off the calling list or to be brought to someone to talk to...

I hate phones too. I usually let it go to voicemail. I try to avoid talking on the phone as much as possible.

Oh do I hate those pre-recorded calls! I can ignore them when they come in on my cell and I don't recognize the number, but I also work at an office with an 18 line phone system. Every call must be answered and 5-6 calls a day are those. growls I'd like to tear the ears off whomever thought of selling stuff via pre-recorded phone message.

it's my grandmother's phone (we live here) and it's old so it doesn't. and i think getting her a new phone wouldn't work since she's very opposed to changes in her life so a new and more advanced phone would only envoke her wrath. she gets confused just paying bills, i don't think she can handle a whole new phone.

also i don't think the whole 'take of the list' thing works because my grandmother always does it.

I also hate talking to relatives because they always think I'm someone else and start talking to me thinking I'm my dad or something.

i greatly dislike answering phones, even my own, i just feel uncomfortable talking on phones/answering phones. that's why i always pretend to do something else so i don't have to answer it. i usually embarrass myself or answer the phone weirdly when i do answer it. :( i'm awkward on phones.

They record it? ._. This is new to me...oh noes.

Ehem, so yes, after much shit talking I gave up and never answer my house phone. If someone needs to reach me, they have my cell. Really, I don't use the house phone for anything anymore.

This site should prove to be helpful when it comes to getting telemarketers off of your back. You should use it. =D

I hate phones. Ours is set up on the answering machine and we never, ever answer it. If it happens to be someone we want to talk to, we pick up while they're leaving a message. All our friends and family know that we screen all calls, so it's not a problem. Anyone else can either hang up or leave messages till they're blue in the face.

I don't answer my phone unless I know the number or I'll say something I'll regret.. Like answer the phone with (since I use a cellphone and I share minutes with four other people) 'What the hell do you want wasting my precious minutes? ._.', or 'No I don't want to buy anything, no my mother is dead and no I don't own a car go away. /hangsup'

I don't like talking to strangers on the phone. However if it's a friend I don't mindXD
