Omg. We get to go to Hershey Park at the end of the year. I didn't put my school in there so... Here's the ways in which student will become ineligible for participation (word for word) :
Any student without a 73% or higher in each of the subject areas on June 1, 2009 will be ineligible for participation in the trip to Hersheypark.
Any student who has 3 or more disipline referrals to the office, btween April 14, 2009 and June, 2009, for behavior concerns will be ineligible for participation in the trip to Hersheypark.
Any student reffered to the office for a level 2 or level 3 offence, as defined in the (my school) Student and Parent handbook, between April 14, 2009 and Jue 1, 2009 resulting in an In School Suspension, Out of School Suspension, and/or Administative Probation, will be ineligible for participation in the trip to Hersheypark.
Any student with an outstanding obligation owed to (my school) will be ineligible for participation in the trip to Hersheypark.
Any student having excessive tardies or absences will be ineligible for participation in the trip to Hersheypark.
Ouch, those sound harsh. ):
The thing is that Algebra is the only subject I'm doing bad in. I have A's and A-'s in DEAR, (drop everything and read; basically like a homeroom) Choir, English, History, Gym, and a B+ in Science. Darn Algebra. ;-;
Me still in Pre-Algebra 8. pokes 11 year old self ^^; Uh, well. I've never gotten a D- in anything. I got a D+ on a math test in 5th grade once. Um... that's not... the same thing... o__o Six Flags. Cool, mon. I love Six Flags. Used to go there all the time with I was a little kid. Ride all the big roller coasters. Yep. ....xD
i have all As and Bs on my reportcard.i`ve never failed a class. ever. my last feild trip was for band in grade 7- my next is... for band in grade9, in one year -_-
I=geek I=Band geek
and in Math i got an EXACT A, one percent less i would have been at a B :p but that grade is going up!
the worst i have gotten was a d, i think. it was baaad. :( d+ actually, come to think of it. it was in science when i was in 7th grade. my mom made me go to science tutorial every friday. horrible.
i still have bad grades in math and chemistry. x.x but thankfully i havent gotten a c yet this year (i am a freshman :D)
we dont have any field trips. ;_; or at least, my classes don't.
THIS IS WHY I DISLIKE MY FRESHMAN YEAR because its too boring T_T
haha, my worst grade was a C in chinese i think? roughly two years ago? x3 I blame that on the fact that i couldnt be bothered to learn the language. which is a shame im sure.
my worst math score was a 27% in i think it was a functions test? :S not sure. but it was funny.
thankfully it humbled me enough to work superhard for the rest of the class tests so i could bring my average back up x3 my report card still had an A (80%+) in the end ❤️
Yes, a D- is horrible. I'm really hoping that was sarcasm.
I've been on barely any trips during high school. I'm a senior now. I think my most exciting trip was a couple weeks ago to NYC. :/
I find it terrible that the school rewards students who are getting C's and D's. The only thing my middle school had was a trip to Seaworld for 4.0 students.

Uhm, speaking as someone who DID fail Algebra II, taking a class again is a BIG BIGGIE. We have block scheduling at my school, so that was a semester down the drain, then I had to WAIT to take advanced math instead of taking it in the first semester and being able to properly doing my physics. It is a VERY big deal.
A D- is bad. If you're putting a field trip before grades, get your priorities straightened, kid. I barely passed physics+advanced math because I didn't and I almost didn't get to graduate with the Honors Curriculum.
is completely right, imo, regarding his view on this. Ask for help in the class, tutoring, extra problems to try to figure out, anything. A D- is a failure, imo. And yes, I'm terrible at math, but passed my math classes with C or B averages because I actually cared enough to go the extra mile.
Regardless, I got my diploma last Thursday. (: So I'm done with highschool. BUT! My Technology Academy took a trip to NASA and Dave&Buster's yesterday, and all the senior tech grads were invited. It was amazing.
- This wasn't a school year wasted, just read below and you'll find out why.
- It's not that big of a deal when you're in the 8th grade. Michigan students are required to take 4 years of math - so it's not that big of a deal because this just means I'll have to take math in each year of high school instead of just 3 years in high school. It's not like I'm falling behind or anything.
lolwow. i love how nearly every simple board turns into some fight. i should quit subeta again, this is just getting fucking stupid. :|
No! :(
You can't quit again. :x
This doesn't bother me anyway since nobody seems to understand how our school/Michigan's curriculum works. At least it's something to reply to, I'm super bored.
i just got my algebra grade back to a C, i get to go to a waterpark thing with the rest of the eighth graders in my class next week ^_^
i know, lemonade. seriously. there's always that one fucker on here that has to come in and act all high and mighty by proving a point that doesn't need to be made.
anywho i've kept a B this whole year in geometry. i'm proud of myself, considering i have to get 1 on 1 time with the teacher to actually get the material to sink it. i'm so slow at math.
I was so damnitydamn worried I would fail my Adobe Illustrator class this spring since I missed several assignments, but I guess the good grades I got on most assignments made up for it, and I got a C. :D I was all worried come finals time that I wouldn't be able to maintain a C average, since I wasn't very good at two of my four classes, but I got a B average, since I got two As and two Cs. :D
I remember those awesome all-day field trips we would take in elementary school. We would leave the school at 7 in the morning on the bus to go to the big city (which is where I live now :P ), spend all day having fun at like the kid's museum and the zoo and stuff, and be back at the school at 8PM. Last time I had one of those was 5th grade.
- I'm jealous. xD
I'm really slow too, but I think I'll be able to raise my grade before school's out to a C or so. We haven't had any tests this marking period, which is why my grade is so low. But our final is coming up and the review packet we had was easy so I might raise my grade since tests are 50% of our final grade.
And why does some whiny kid have to complain about everything in every board? IDK, I should probably quit Subeta. Geezus.
On topic, it's still bad for your GPA. But! If you're not falling behind, it isn't as bad as I thought it was. It's still not faboo, but, falling behind in highschool is the worst. Will you have your friends in your math classes, though? That's always the worst part of it!
- I haven't checked my GPA for awhile but last time it was around 3.6 or so. ;o
And yeah, like Claire () said earlier, only about 6 or 7 people are going to be in Geometry in 9th grade next year, the rest have to retake Algebra. I believe my teacher said only kids with a B+ or better can pass into Geometry.
nice comeback. ;) i'm a whiny little kid for getting annoyed at people who act like they're so smart on subeta, oh the horror. at least i'm not a hypocrite ^_^
[edit] typo
I used to really care about grades when I was in elementary and middle school, and then when I got into high school, I stopped caring less and less the older I got. I was still in the top 10 percentile when I graduated, though. Like, just barely, but still.
Now.. in college.. I do really well in the stuff that I like, and I do okay in the stuff I don't. I did, for the like first time since 6th grade, get an a in Math, though. That was pretty bad ass. AND I actually enjoyed it, for the first time since like, 4th grade.
I don't go on field trips anymore :/ The last field trip I went on was to the state art museum like, my senior yet. I miss it. I when on that field trip every year I was in high school, great times were had.
