NO. Nope. Nuh-uh. No way. No support, not on any level.

They are trying to move away from *hoarding achievements because of the strain hoarding puts on the servers. This is a hoarding achievement. Filled Wardrobe does not need any more tiers.

(*The staff has said this several times in different places.)

[edit] And... This is the second time I've voiced my lack of support on this same board. No support times 2. -sheepish grin-

The problem is that limiting tiers does not stop wardrobe hoarding. You can't compare it to shop hoarding because it is just not the same. I am still going to add to my wardrobe. So why not?

There are (at least) two sides to this... There are users like yourself and there are users like me.

The only reason I ever collected the amount of items I did was because I was going for the achievement. Around about 12k items I reached the upper limit of the amount of items I could deal with having in there and started trying to dig myself back out from under the pile of junk I had collected (by junk I mean items I knew I wouldn't use). I still feel pretty overwhelmed when I view my wardrobe.

I think the question here is: Do you reward people that are gonna have a bunch of wearables anyway, at the potential expense of encouraging more hoarding among achievement hunters, OR do you leave it where it is and have those people with larger wardrobes feeling somewhat slighted?

[edit] I'd also like to point out that if they add more tiers and give them awesome prizes, I would probably go back into hoarding mode in an attempt to get them... So, I am speaking about this from my personal perspective when I mentioned the potential expense.

I also only hoarded wardrobe items for the achievements. I kept them in a separate drawer so I wouldn't have to deal with them, but when I finally hit 15k I got rid of over 12k items. If they added more tiers (and probably only if I liked the prize(s) because lmao that's a lot of ground to recover) I would start hoarding again.

So like, if you're going to hoard regardless, you wouldn't really be affected other than you'll get an easy achievement out of it. If you don't want to hoard items you'll never use otherwise, then you'll be encouraged to start hoarding (or restart) and that's not good.

shrugs I had always hoped that they would add more. Even if I am the type that still collects no matter if there are more tiers, it is still nice to be rewarded. I have over 21,000 wearables. I worked hard to get there. It is fun for me just like people who like pets (which I like those too but that is another story). CWs have made wearables very popular. I guess I just like having a set goal in addition to any personal goals.

Oh and for the record regarding CWs (cause I believe a few people mentioned it)....they do count towards the tiers ;)

I...would honestly love to see another tier. But I wonder if we could make it just one more big tier, like 20k (there are 24k items on site I think?) with no prize/reward for getting that far. I think that would satisfy wardrobe hoarders without making people feel like they need to finish the achievements just to get something they want.

I would be fine with that!

I don't support another tier, but I wouldn't complain if one was added with no prize. I'm pretty sure I saved up to exactly 15k in case of another tier, so my achievement wouldn't show a weird number for eternity if I stopped there.

I don't care for tiered achievements period.

If people want to hoard they will either way, however I don't think hoarding should be further incentivized or encouraged.

I would love to get a straight answer here one way or the other honestly. A lot of people would sell off their wardrobe hoards if it was certain we weren't getting another tier, which is good non-hoarding behavior we need to encourage, right? :D

I personally love all wardrobe related achievements. I collect all wearable items. I currently have ~17398 of 25731 wearable items (since I last updated my SubetaLodge checklist). I think adding a 20k and a 25k wardrobe tier would be awesome for people like me who love to collect. I also think adding more tier achievements would be great, I have at least 2k (non CW) chest items and the chest tier only goes to 1500.

Even if the intent now isn't to add anymore wardrobe tiers, the thing I tend to think of is that there's always the possibility of that changing down the road. Between that and my collecting habit, my wardrobe hoard is staying right where it is. ;)

In the end, I don't mind if more tiers are added or not but do find it counterproductive if the current goal is to curb hoarding. Those of us who collect are going to do so whether there are achievements for it or not, so there's no reason to put further stress on the system because an achievement makes everyone else feel like they have to hoard too (even if only for a temporary period of time).

didnt Keith say something about regretting having the wardrobe achievements because he doesn't want people to hoard?

Yes he did... I keep hoping he'll retire the achievement permanently or add more tiers or a permanent final tier or do something, so I can decide whether to sell some of my wardrobe hoard or not XD

Same... I really want a clear and definite answer about this, one that will be stuck to and not changed minds a bit later... As we all know, subeta discourages hoarding. Or they're supposed to. It's really obvious by the way they say don't hoard but then reward anyone who hoards. It's very mixed messages... I have reached the "final" tier of the wardrobe achievement, and I don't trust the idea that there will never be more. As I said they discourage hoarding but reward it also. So they may say "oh there will never be more tiers" then a few months later add more tiers.

I'd love to dismantle my hoard of clothes permanently but I cannot do so until there is a final, definite and clear answer that there will be no more tiers. Otherwise I will keep hoarding in hopes of being rewarded, subeta style.

I don&;t think we need anymore tiers either. I have the 15,000 items in there and I&;m pretty sure I haven&;t used at least 80% of them.

As for achievements for individual layers, there are 24 different layers and only 8 of them have achievements with them. So maybe all the layers could get an achievement for having a certain number in them.

I'm all for this. I should really take some wearables out of my wardrobe. LOL (10)

We&;re getting rid of those achievements :) Same with the shop achievements, etc. We&;re done encouraging people to put thousands of items in places that they don&;t want, just to get an achievement. It&;s lame and makes the site slower for everyone else. So if you&;re hoping for more tiers of those achievements / hanging on to items for that to happen, you shouldn&;t :)

Seems pretty certain that there are no more tiers being added, and the whole set of achievements is going to be retired at some stage.

I'd say that this is almost as good as the real thing. Considering Keith's been very clearly against hoarding achievements for a good while, and has been very keen on speeding up the site any way he can, the abandonment of hoarding achievements is basically a done deal. Yes, we've been burnt before, but adding more tiers at this stage has no benefit for the site, and Keith isn't so malicious that he'd change his mind at the last minute. It may be a while before there's a super official final announcement, but how many times does he need to say it in an unofficial capacity before you believe him?
