:X I stopped at gr8 so I was 14 same with my sibs, but my friends went up to 17-19 which is pushing it and they knew it (more of hey lets do a street here and there on the way to the party) but idk I think gr9 is a good last year, sometimes if your too tall you'll already be getting snide remarks at the door.

My rule: You are never to old to trick-or-treat until you are too old to have fun.
Oh please, no, of course not. I'm an upperclassman in high school, and I plan on going trick or treating this coming year.
Edit: BUT you must dress up. As soon as you decide that you're too old for costumes, you're too old for trick-or-treating.

Well see, I think you're too old from 17-30, and then you're a proper age for trick-or-treating again, since like parents go with their kids or babysitters do. I just can't imagine anyone from 17-30 trick-or-treating for some reason. But really, I suppose it'd depend on a person's personality in the end in my opinion.
I'm 17 and i still enjoy trick or treat xD but i weren't able to go last year.. was down with a sickness.. >. <'' if i get a friend along I'll go this year too, if not I'll just chill at home scaring kids xD but yeah i notice it's very few 15+ walking on halloween xD I'm as tall as a 11 years old kid and a total ironboard anyways so no one woud probably think of me as a college-student either way xD
Wow, this thing still lives? XD
Just to clarify, I'll dressing up if I get to go, in a sweet home-made costume (stated in 1st post) and we just moved into a new neighborhood two months ago, so I have no idea on the ToTing ages around here. :)
And Sherbet, our state is da bomb, no? WOO VEGAS. My old neighborhood had a drug bust last summer where the house down the street had a meth lab and a weed farm inside, and a schizophrenic right next to the mailboxes. She yelled at my mom for no reason, called her a gloater when they'd never talked before. XD
Im going trick-or-treating this year garantee.Im 11.Most of the people in my school stop trick-or-treating last year. No spirit in my school i tell you. ^^
I don't think that's too old, I went trick or treating with my friends last year when I was 15. I'm also going with my friends this year and my friends are almost 18 and still going trick or treating x3 Though last year we had a bunch of people tell us that we were 'too old for this' not that we cared we just took the candy. I don't think you're ever too old to get free candy :D
I'm pretty sure the last time I went trick-or-treating was when I was 16, and I'm 20 now. But I've dressed up since! It's mega fun to dress up and go out to places!
I'd say 20 is too old for trick-o-treating with just your friends. Who doesn't want FREE candy. XD
@.@ "You've got a hand? A hand in a jar? A hand, in a jar, in your bag!" @.@
I'm sixteen and I still go. >_> I love candy and dressing up more than anything, Halloween is my favourite holiday. I'm not ready to give that up yet. D;
All of my friends say that we're too old though. I have to find some younger friends or go with my little sister or something.
You're only too old to go trick-or-treating when people start treating you like a pedophile.
If you think you're too old, just go with friends! XD
id say 17+ would be a little too old by that time you should be able to buy your own candy if you really want it plus it kind of looks weird if youre an adult and asking adults for more candy :P
I think that if you are running around without a costume (or barely one) and asking for candy, then your too old. But if you have a costume, then it is fine. I hate it though when adults come up and ask for candy.
I personally think 13 is too old, as soon as you become a teen I don't think you should, simply because its intimidating to have older people turn up at your door demanding sweets. Unless you're taking young children, in which case I think its fine as long as you don't ask for treats too. If you want to dress up that much go to a convention :)

I'm almost seventeen, and I still trick'er treet. My aunt does, too, and she's thirty eight. Just have fun with it. <3
Anyone that wears a costume should get candy.
Hell, some uncostumed twenty-year-old-plus dad came with his two-year old to my house and I gave him candy just for walking up XD
I'm 16, and I plan on going this year.
Not so much for the candy as much as the fun of dressing up :P
If I was able to, I would definately go Trick-or-Treating. I believe that if you at least make an effort to dress up, you should get candy.
Unfortunately, some adults don't think so. When I was 14, I convinced my dad to let me go, and all night I heard grumbling from parents thinking I was to old for it. Of course, when I was 12 people thought I was 16, so I don't know. :P
More than likely I won't even be home for Halloween. For the past two years, my band has had to travel to far away competitions around Halloween. I haven't had an actual Halloween since 2006. grumble
I went last year.
I just turned 22 in may
[:
I go in full costume. I love dressing up. Its tons of fun when you gets lots of people going. Kids, adults, whoever wants to come.
Of course every other year i get to take my nephew, who is about to be 6. But i'll still go without him. XD My neighbors never have a problem with me or my friends coming by. A lot of them will give us LESS, but thats ok.
My moms rule is that if you're dressed up (and not some half-assed costume like a hoodie and scream mask) you'll get candy.
I don't understand why there has to be a cut off point. Teenagers should be able to go! Why can't they have fun? 15 is not too old. Hell, when i was 15-16 it was the most fun. I had lots of friends from HS go and we could do themes. It was great!
