No, but a lot of users frown upon it and it may earn you some blocks.

Alot of users like myself find this very annoying

I use my Comment system as a means of contact, and when someone comments me to thank me for purchasing from a shop, in which i make 100's, if not 1000's of shop purchases a day, It gives me a false lead, and the person really isnt so special because i bought from them :x And some people like myself say on their profiles not to comment them to thank them for buying from their shops, i think if someone does so anyways, it might be breaking some rule, be it harassment or spam :/, ill need some clarification on that though xD

I would say, and not being grouchy, that I don't really care for being thanked just to buy from a shop. Mostly because It makes it sound like I'm doing to as a favor and it really has nothing to do with who owns the shop. That person just happened to have the lowest price. I would assume they are happy if I buy their things ;) but I wouldn't want to go to K mart and have them say thank you for ever single thing that I buy.

Personally, I think it's rude to get upset if someone thanks you for buying from their shop. It's not very often that people take the time these days to notice that someone has purchased & thank them. I do NOT always buy from the cheapest shop, so it's not simply a random occurrence. Sometimes, I'll pay a bit more to buy from someone who is newer to the game & who hasn't had as many sales yet. I like to help people. Does it really hurt you if someone puts a comment on your page & thanks you??? It's a nice thing to thank people.

You can always delete the comment if you're getting so many that they're taking up too much space. I'll admit that I'm old fashioned, I'm almost 54 (one week) but I think people don't thank each other enough these days (in life in general) and if you specifically ASK people not to thank you, I don't understand that. It seems more rude than if someone goes out of their way to express their appreciation. I'll get off my soap box now, before I fall off, LOL!!

and to have someone so ruled just becuz i stay thank you to them for buying from my shop i haven't been on this site that long and just what i do to stay thank you for buying from my shop and if u dont want me to stay thank u to u then just comment and tell me and not in the means way u can do it 2

I find it VERY annoying when people do that. And why should I have to waste time commenting you back and telling you not to do it? Much more efficient to simply block.

I don't think there's anything wrong with a simple thankyou.

i dont see whats wrong with it what do u want mean people in the word that have no respect for u to stay a dang thank you and if u guys look at it this way its a way to make new friends buy staying thank you to someone

As has been made quite plain, some people are annoyed by it.

While it can be considered being polite, no one "expects" it, because a lot of folks just have too many items rotating through their shop to do so, and the folks doing a lot of buying can feel receiving those comments interrupts their questing, etc. that they are involved in at the moment.

Instead, I would recommend putting a "Thank You for buying!" comment on your shop page, or something similar. The people who stop to actually look at your page will see and appreciate and the ones in a rush on a quest won't but probably wouldn't care either way. They just appreciate the lower prices. ;)

I don't think it's considered spam to comment them, but then again I never do it so...

A lot of people get annoyed very easily by it, and I honestly don't see a reason to do so. Just delete the comment and move on. If you block them, then your missing out on a potential buyer from your shop, a potential seller selling something cheap, or a potential friend. :)

I get thank you's for buying from shops, and I don't mind it at all. It just makes me smile because it's an act of being polite, even though it isn't necessary. :)
