Hmm.

I know I'm not alone in that when I find a new item that REALLY appeals to me, I have a sudden urge to hoard like a crazy mofo.

Sometimes entire sets of items interest me enough that I endeavour to collect the whole shebang. GAWTA CATCH DEM AWL.

I suppose the most common things users like to collect are plushies, beanbags, minions, etc.

I really admire the commitment that hardcore collectors have. Trying to collect one of EVERY plushie or minion on the site is just.. mind boggling.

I absolutely adore plushies and minions and books and beanbags. But when it comes to collecting them, I tend to just.. collect the ones that I LOVE.

I don't see the point in spending time and sP collecting certain items, just for the sake of collecting them. There are plenty of plushies and books and beanbags etc, that I really DON'T like to look at. It's just a matter of personal taste.

I'm just curious as to whether or not you're one of those HARDCORECOLLECTEVERYTHINGLEAVENONEBHIND types, or if you're like me, and collect a LOT of stuff, but only if you LOVE the look of it.

Is it a waste to spend sP on items that you hate the look of, just to get closer towards completing a collection? Is it okay for art quality or aesthetic appeal, to take a backseat to collection completion?

I don't collect much, but what I do like, I collect in large quantities.

I guess I am half and half. Some items I collect just to complete a collection. Such as my SBQ collection. I am not all that fond of some of the lines, but I want to own them all so that I can say I have a full collection.

Same with beanbags and eventually plushies.

Other stuff, such as minions, I only collect the ones I think are cute/awesome/amazing etc.

edit: I forgot to say that some items are SO cute that I want to own them all.

I don't horad one particular item. I just collect items with skulls on them. But I don't collect items I don't like there or I don't think are beautiful.

So I only collect items with skulls that I like.. Uh.. yes, like this XD .

I have a gallery full of things that I just like, or find aesthetically pleasing, but I myself couldn't justify collecting just to collect. I've collected 95 Taddys (Taddies? Taddi?), and I plan to collect 777 of them. Why? One, because they're cute and I like the number seven. And two, because Mr. Recycle beast won't know what hit him when he asks for them again. >)

I collect all sorts of bread and bread products, because I'm not allowed to eat too much white bread IRL and I love the taste of it. P:

Although I would love to have one of all the bread products on the site, I don't usually buy the ones over 100k and don't plan to in the near future. I have other things to save for.

I was all about the minions for awhile, but then I kind of...lost interest, I guess. Then I tried to do the 10k hoarder, but I got greedy and sold off all of the restockables...XP

So now I think I'll just concentrate on collecting whatever I think looks shiny, so I guess I'm in the same boat as Mythi.

As for the "got to have them all" mentality, yes, I has it. I'm a masochist, so I'm working on a complete weapon collection, a complete minion collection and a collection of holiday/special occasion items at the same time. Fortunately I'm patient and actually prefer my galleries uncompleted. I get bored with them if I'm not constantly looking for new things to put in them.

I do collect minions. It's the "collect everything" type that I do for that collection. Other than that I have a mini collection of sorts for the small and easy to accomplish. :)
