Thank you so much for this. Now I actually have a good idea of where to start and some basic rules.

Also I feel less terrible about using a mouse.

Hey! Sorry for pinging you, but do you know any equivalent for the program you used there (PaintShop Pro 7 thingie) for mac? I really tried to find out on my own, but every of my attempts failed. I even downloaded Adobe Photoshop Elements, but it doesn't seem to have that "bezier curve" tool you used to do the lineart...

Thank you in advance :3

I love your work. You make it seem so easy in your video, lol. Do you use a tablet to draw? All I have is my mouse, so I'm pretty much screwed on that front. You don't take commissions, do you? Haha, like I'd be that lucky. headdesk

I think I have memorized your video and I am still having trouble making my wig, I managed to get my shading done without a problem. But my outlining looks really bad and for some reason it doesn't look as detailed as yours. Help me please.

Ok so I have watched your video soo many times and I think I finally got the shading and coloring right, but the one thing I'm having trouble with is making my lines look as smooth as yours. Is there a way that I can smooth out my current lining or will I have to totally redo it in a program other than GIMP? Sorry I'm sure you get these random questions all the time

It's nice but is there aother way to ink than using the pen tool? I hate hate HATE that thing!

Have we all gone mad? Have we lost our minds? What used to be wrong, we say that is right.

Download the trial version of Adobe Illustrator. :)

Alternatively, if you want to stick with PSE, you can increase the canvas and image size to three or four times the given image, and then just use the normal 9px hard round brush to do your lines - that also recognizes pen pressure if you're using a tablet, which is nice (Illustrator doesn't simulate pen pressure, unfortunately). Then, just resize the image down when you're finished.

Hi :) Thank you for the video, I'm watching it several times to "grab" the correct "subeta drawing style". But may I ask a question? I've some problems with the shading of the item and my work is denied generally for this reason (ehr... there are million of reasons but this is the most recurrent). Now I've created a plan of my new revamp... can you tell me if this is the correct way of working on an item? Or maybe what or where I do it wrong? Thank you ^__^

Old version: /// New version:

Edit: I don't want occupy this thread only for my needs... I suppose this can be usefull to anyone. But, just in case, my discussion thread is here.

I am using the same programs as you, but when I try to make a transparent white layer it doesn't work. I've tried to adjust the opacity, and it does nothing. I'm really confused.

- I've watched your tutorial. You did a great job and it was fairly simply to follow. I was however wondering when you do the sketch, do you draw it using a mouse or did you use a device like an Ipad that has a pen. I can never get my lines so clean and flawless using a mouse so I was just wondering. Thanks in advance! =3

Just clarifying, but when your shading you use the freestyle? What opacity? Thanks soooooo much! <3 I advise you to open up an art shop if you haven't already. ;D
