side note - For the record, I did write the letters down before I realized what they spelled. lol
You hear a ring at your doorbell, and you stop whatever it is that you're doing -- cooking, cleaning, wrapping presents, wasting time on online petsites (how silly!) -- and go to answer it. It's probably another Luminaire present -- you, being you, attract that kind of attention (can you help it? the fabulous life is fabulous). When you open the door, however, there's nobody there. -- except for a small basket in front of the door. You stare at it in surprise, and are about to pick it up when it starts shaking. You yank your hand back and stare at it in shock. What if it's something horrible? What if the handle is laced with poison or there are cockroaches inside or something? (that would be gross, ugh). Suddenly, you hear a strange squealing, mewing noise. This reminds you of bunnies and kittens in quick succession, and you realize that the possibility of a bunny or a kitten far outweighs the dangers of venomous household products or even (ew) cockroaches. Inside of the basket, you see a strange, tiny creature -- small enough to fit into the palm of your hand -- that looks a bit like a kitten, except for the weird smile on its face (seriously, it's still smiling. why is it still smiling??). There is a note in the basket as well, which reads: PLEASE SEND HELP MY HOUSE IS INFESTED WITH THEM THEY ATE EVERYTHING THEY ARE EVERYWHERE THEY TOOK EVERYTHING I HAVE NOTHING LEFT OH GOD PLEASE SAVE ME FROM TH The note ends there, followed by wild pen-streaks across the page. You look at the creature with sudden fear. It smiles back up at you.

Message Twas the night before Lumi, and all through Rowan's Forest, Pets were merrily wrapping, and singing in chorus. All of our friends needed best love and care, Oh, hurry, since Melody soon will be there. The Chibis all helped scraping prices away, Their Elders were boxing the gifts for the day. While Rowan directed, the presents were packed, Bowed and looking all lovely, and fit to be sacked. Then into the forest the lumbering came, And all of the pets called out Melody's name. It seemed she was with them in less than a flash, With Anyu-pulled sleighs that surely did dash. The fairies had gathered and bathed all in light. Twinkling and laughing, they made snow that night. Cocoa and cookies went round after round. The feeling of Luminaire seemed to abound. Melody shone, like a torch clad in red, She smiled at all, and then she said. "There's such joy in giving, not making demands," And gifts for each pet fell out of her hands. "Friendship's a treasure, I see you have lots, All worthy of joy: sacks, buckets and pots. For they are what make Subeta so dear, Each hour, each day, year after year!" Rowan agreed, being one merry elf, She decided she couldn't have said more herself! So Melody winked and inclined her bright head, And pets merrily loaded the gifts into sleds. Up into the sky the fairies all flew, To bring all the treasures, to you and to you. And the Forest called out as the sleds all took flight, "Joy to you, dear friends. Happy Lumineve night!"
